The biggest junior angling event in the country

On the 13th and 14th September, over 450 junior anglers attended the Canal and River Trust’s (CRT) National Celebration of Young People and Fishing, which was the country’s biggest junior angling event. The National Celebration is the CRT’s flagship event as part of their Let’s Fish participation programme, and has grown consistently since 2017 when 17 anglers attended the inaugural event.

 

While the weather was at times a bit wet, almost all the junior anglers caught something and all participants received prizes, medals and collectable certificates, including the supremely prestigious Guru gudgeon mug for anyone landing this increasingly scarce iconic species.
